Backyard Explorer digital scrapbook freebie

August 7, 2008 · 33 Comments

Well, since I am not going to be designing (for a shop) I figured I’d go ahead and share this kit I made as a freebie. I spent a lot of time on this one so I hope you all like this one.  This is a pretty big kit so I broke it up into a few zip files.  Everything is designed at 300 dpi. Here’s a preview of it. Enjoy!

Cute back to school freebie I found

August 7, 2008 · 1 Comment

Sharing some link love today and linking out to a freebie today. I found a cool back to school freebie so I figured I’d post it here. I hope to get some freebies here soon, but figured I’d share this one for now. I snagged the preview from her blog.  I hope that’s okay.

Anyhow here’s a link to it - back to school. I plan to make some scrapbook pages soon so I’ll share those with you when I get them done.

So much for designing

August 4, 2008 · 7 Comments

Not going to go into the details of why, but for legal reasons due to one of my contracts with Justmommies. (I am an administrator over there for those that do not know that.) I will not be doing designing after all. I’m bummed and not sure what I am doing with my blog at the moment. I feel awful about putting my name in the hat and wasting everybody’s time. Been in a bad mood about it all morning.

Applied to be a designer

July 30, 2008 · 2 Comments

With some encouragement from my friends I decided to go for it and apply to a designer call and see what happens.  I have been working on a new kit.  This one will not be a freebie, but if I can get it together I will try to put a few things together from it and offer that as a freebie.  I really want to get more into designing, but I also like offering things for free.  My freebie kits I haven’t spent as much time on and the amount of time I am spending on this kit I just can’t see myself not getting into designing for a shop.  I am going to try to put more tutorials on my site as well.  Hopefully I can get some of those together soon.  Summer time is tough for me though so it may just have to wait until the fall.

Newborn Leo page

July 20, 2008 · 3 Comments

A page I did with some old pictures of Leo.  I figured I’d share it since I was happy with how it turned out.  He’s still my little doll baby.

Torn Paper Alpha Freebie

July 20, 2008 · 7 Comments

As promised, an alpha freebie for you.  I plan to make a few more alphas as I have discovered they come in very handy for making digital scrapbook pages.  This one actually took a lot more time than I expected, but I think it will come in handy for me so I hope you all can get a lot of use out of it.  Here’s a preview of it.

Alphas, I need to make some!

July 15, 2008 · No Comments

I was working a page last night for a challenge over at Justmommies and decided I definitely need to make some alphas.  All the freebies I found were pretty simple and all the ones I’ve made thus far have been pretty simple.  I think I want to make a set of really nice alphas that I can use for different pages.  I am not sure when I’ll be able to work on it, might not be for a couple weeks yet because I just have so much chaos during the summer months, but that is my next project for sure.  Stay tuned.

Two page layout I made with my safari kit

July 14, 2008 · 2 Comments

These are the pics that inspired me to make my latest kit. This is the first 2 page layout I have ever made. I like how the first page turned out. I kept trying to squeeze the other pictures in there and finally decided to go ahead and just make a second page. I want to try hybrid scrapping too at some point in time, but that’ll probably have to wait until my kids are back in school. I’m feeling a little more inspired than I was before so if things settle down I’ll make another freebie before school starts back. We’ll see. I might write up some tutorials here though. I had planned to do more of them, but they are kind of time consuming so we’ll see about that as well. Anyhow, here’s my latest layouts.

Aren’t my kids cute???

Safari (Zoo) Digital Scrapbooking Freebie

July 13, 2008 · 21 Comments

I will start by saying this is not my most impressive kit. I am just having lots of trouble getting inspired lately and I just couldn’t think of what to put in it. There are a few elements that I like and my papers are okay, but I feel like this kit could have used a lot more stuff so you might find you have to add pieces from other kits to get this to work right for you. I figured I might as well share it since I made it. This kit has 10 papers and then only a handful of elements. Elements are monkey, giraffe, zebra, and elephant stickers (remember I can’t draw so don’t expect too much with those, but my kids like them so good enough for me), and then a postcard and framem and stamp. I was happy with the postcard and frame. I liked how the frame turned out a lot so that was enough for me to upload it all. Oh also included is an alpha. That’s it. Sorry it’s such a small kit. Hopefully once summer settles down and kids are back in school I can create some more stuff.

Here’s the preview.

I have no idea what is up with 4shared, but since for some reason my elements link wasn’t working I uploaded another copy and changed the link for you.

My latest pages, figured I’d share

July 7, 2008 · No Comments

Since I haven’t had time yet to finish the kit I’m working on.  (Have I said I’m slow before?  If not, I’m kind of slow at making kits.)  Anyhow, I figured I’d share a couple of layouts I did.  I actually did these a couple weeks ago I think, but hadn’t put them on here yet so figured I’d share them here.  I’m still working on my safari kit, but I am moving really slowly with it.  I got two elements done, that’s it.  I got a bunch more to make and my papers need some serious work.  I am going to try to work on it a little tonight, but with all my kids home for summer vacation it sure is slowing me down.
